Our Commitment

Family Law in Ontario aims to be usable by as many people as possible, including people using assistive technology, keyboard-only navigation, or browsers with custom text and color settings. Accessibility matters especially here, since visitors are often dealing with a stressful family situation and may be reading on whatever device they have on hand.

What This Site Does

  • A “Skip to main content” link on every page for keyboard and screen-reader users
  • Semantic HTML and a logical heading structure on every guide
  • Keyboard-navigable menus, and FAQ sections built with native, keyboard-accessible disclosure elements
  • Labelled form fields on the consultation-request form
  • Support for reduced-motion browser settings
  • A responsive layout that aims to work from small phone screens up to large desktop monitors
  • Text and background colors generally chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast guidelines

Still a Work in Progress

This site has not yet undergone a full, independent accessibility audit, and it does not claim formal conformance with a specific WCAG level. It's designed with WCAG guidelines in mind, and improvements are ongoing.

Third-Party Tools

The calculators and wizards under Tools are provided by a third party, Lexscale.ai, and load inside an embedded frame. Their accessibility is controlled by that provider, not by this site directly.
